Fujifilm announced the flagship of the X series, the FUJIFILM X-H2S, at X Summit OMIYA 2022. It will be released on July 14th, priced at around 350,000 yen (tax included). The image sensor is a back-illuminated stacked X-Trans CMOS 5 HS with 26.16 million effective pixels, and continuous shooting is about 40 frames per second with blackout-free electronic shutter and about 15 frames with mechanical shutter. The number of continuous shots is about 184 frames with electronic shutter JPEG and over 1,000 frames with mechanical shutter JPEG. The stacked sensor significantly reduces the rolling shutter distortion of the electronic shutter, but the mechanical shutter was not omitted. The imaging sensitivity is ISO 80-51200 (up to ISO 25600 for video). The AF is an intelligent hybrid AF with 475-point phase difference AF and contrast AF. AI deep learning technology automatically detects the subject, and in addition to face and eye AF, it detects and tracks animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, airplanes, trains, etc. The maximum shutter speed is 1/8000 sec with mechanical shutter and 1/32000 sec with electronic shutter. Sync is 1/250 sec with mechanical shutter and 1/120 sec with electronic shutter. Recording formats are JPEG, HEIF (first for Fujifilm), 14-bit RAW, and 16-bit TIFF. Image stabilization is a sensor-shift type 5-axis image stabilization with an effective number of steps equivalent to 7. The EVF is a 0.5-inch 5.76 million dot OLED, and the rear monitor is a 3-inch 1.62 million dot vari-angle touch panel LCD. The sub LCD monitor is located on the shoulder. Videos are 6.2K/30p, 4K/60p, and 4K/120p. 4K/60p allows for 240 minutes of continuous recording, and the optional cooling fan FAN-001 is also available. It supports three Apple ProRes codecs: ProRes422 HQ, ProRes 522, and ProRes 422 LT. It also supports F-Log2, which expands the dynamic range to 14+EV. There are 19 film simulation modes. The recording media is a dual slot for CFexpress Type B and SD UHS-II. It is professional specification, such as supporting wired LAN. The power source is NP-W235, and the number of shots that can be taken is 580 (normal mode). The size and weight are 136.3X92.9X84.6mm and 579g (body only).

Two interchangeable lenses were also announced at the same time. The XF 18-120mm F4.0 LM PZ WR is a standard zoom lens with built-in power zoom, equivalent to 27-183mm in 35mm format. It will be released in September, and the price will be 145,200 yen (tax included). The lens consists of 15 elements in 12 groups, including 3 ED lenses, the minimum shooting distance is 0.6 meters, the aperture blades are 7, and the filter diameter is 72mm. The size and weight are 77.3X123.6mm and 460g. The XF150-500mm F5.6-8 R LM OIS WR is a super telephoto zoom lens equivalent to approximately 229-914mm in 35mm format, with an aperture ring. It will be released on July 15th, and the price will be 322,300 yen (tax included). The lens configuration is 24 elements in 17 groups, including three ED lenses and four super ED lenses, the minimum shooting distance is 2.4 meters, the aperture blades are 9, and the filter diameter is 82 mm. The size and weight are 99 x 314.5 mm and approximately 1.6 kg.

Postscript At X Summit OMIYA 2022, in addition to the 40-megapixel X-H2 camera equipped with the X-Trans CMOS 5 HR, the development of interchangeable lenses XF 56mm F1.2II, XF30mm F2.8 Macro, and XF8mm F3.5 was announced.

I shot in RAW, developed it in Adobe Lightroom, and exported it as JPEG. The images from this camera have high contrast, so I adjusted the parameters quite a bit. I lowered the contrast to prevent the background from being blown out. Sony ZV-E10, E16-50mm F3.5-5.6 PZ, aperture F8, aperture priority AE, ISO auto.
