Keyless Entry System
The majority of
lamborghini keys cars are furnished with an electronic key that can be used for unlocking and locking doors, incensing the car, and disarming the immobilizer system, without having to use an ordinary metal bladed key. The way a smart key works is through an electronic transponder pill in the middle of the key, which communicates with the car's computer on an encrypted signal whenever you are within five feet of the vehicle. It can be done by placing it attached to your key ring or in your pocket.
The keys contain the controller chip, which generates a 40-bit coding each time the transmitter button on the key is press. This code is transmitted to the receiver. The hopping/rolling code blocks the receiver and transmitter from detecting each other's signals this means that the key can only be used on one particular Lamborghini at time.
To duplicate a key that is digital, you'll require a specific device for coding that can only be obtained from a reputable Lamborghini dealer or locksmith. This is a costly equipment and is the main reason why re-creating a digital key is more expensive than cutting a conventional metal bladed car key.
Key Fob
The key fob contains small remote transmitters that communicates with the car's systems via Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. It transmits a coded signal to an RFID chip in the vehicle. The RFID chip then transmits that information back to the keyfob. When the key fob is activated the car, it will be able to detect the information transmitted by an RFID chip and react accordingly.
The fob may also include buttons that can trigger other functions, such as locking and unlocking doors, activating a power sunroof or folding the power side mirrors. It can also start the engine and flash a light to inform you that it's done so.
Fobs are easy to replace, so you can buy a new one from an auto dealership or at a retailer that sells them. You can also read the owner's guide, which includes instructions on how to replace the battery yourself. It's a relatively simple task that requires only some minutes.
If your keys don't work it's likely that the issue lies to be with the ignition switch. This part is susceptible to wear or damage which can cause it to break down. If the ignition switch malfunctions, it will stop your vehicle from starting, and prevent you from driving it. This is a dangerous scenario, so it's vital to investigate the issue and fix it as soon as possible.
Remote Keyless System Receiver Module
The receiver is an RF unit which contains programming logic for RKE. It is located under the lower instrument panel of the passenger near the glove box's opening. The RF receiver is a 315 MHz radio transmitter and receives and decodes a stream from the RKE key fob. The data stream is typically 64 to 128 bit long and contains a preamble code, command code, and rolling codes. The RF signal uses amplitude-shift keying to decrease battery consumption and increase transmission range.
When a user presses one of the function switches on the RKE key fob, it activates mechanical actuators inside the key fob, which press a corresponding button on the receiver's RF. This triggers a signaling process to send a message back to the BCM to indicate that the pressed function switch was actuated.
The BCM then sends a signal to the RKE transmitter to transmit an RF radio channel coded to the vehicle in accordance with the code that was transmitted. The receiver is also able to store the transmitter's codes and allow up to four remote keyless entries to be used at the same time. The RF receiver chime when it receives a command from a transmitter not matched.
Diagnostics of a fault
Fault diagnosis is the method of identifying the problem in a system through the analysis of its components. Fault diagnosis is an important component of the design and validation process, and it can help reduce development time by eliminating the need for extensive debugging. It also permits the rapid detection of flaws and improves system reliability. Fault diagnosis is especially important for high-speed systems, as failures can be very costly.
