The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

The Q Revo is a fantastic choice if you're seeking a robot vacuum and mop that's middle-of-the-road. It has a great mopping capability, but it lacks certain of the more advanced features of its more expensive counterpart.

In tests, it was able to take on dust and dry oats on carpets with medium piles as well as pet hair on hard flooring. But, unlike cheaper models, it doesn't employ LIDAR to map out your home.

1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot

The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is one of the best robot vacuum and mop under $500-rated robots. It is loaded with features and impressive cleaning power, such as an area for dirt that is integrated into the charging base. The robot vacuum reviews will learn your habits of cleaning, and recommend automatic schedules to give you the ultimate hands-free cleaning experience.

Setup is easy, thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the procedure. Once everything is connected, you can start the automated cleaning functions with the click of the button. You can opt for an overall clean that emphasizes the removal of large debris such as cereal and rice or go for two thorough mappings of your area to ensure your entire home is properly arranged.

This vacuum works well on floors that are unfinished and carpets with a low pile. It sucks up large items and doesn't lose suction as rapidly as some others do, and it can even clean up pet hair with ease. It's a challenge with high-pile carpets or plush carpets however iRobot promises that the next models will be better.

The S9+ is a new design by iRobot that is focused on improving corner and edge cleaning. It's the first Roomba that has a flat-fronted D-shaped design. The company hopes this will allow it to fit into furniture and walls. It's a step up from the hockey puck-shaped robovacs that are standard, but we found it only marginally better than circular models.

iRobot claims that the S9+ also has a superior filtration system, which prevents micro-sized particles and allergens from circulating throughout your home. It's a nice claim however, we're not convinced it's enough to justify the premium price tag.

Its smart navigation system utilizes sensors to remember the arrangement of your home and vSLAM for mapping the interior of your home. This allows it to avoid obstacles like stairs and other barriers and to tidy up your entire home efficiently possible. The iRobot Home app lets you manage the robot and plan cleaning times, and set up virtual boundary markers, so it can recognize areas that require more attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

Roborock Q Revo is a robot that combines vacuuming and mopping. Its vacuum settings are just as good as those on higher-end models. And its mopping system is better because its spinning pads scrub your floors much more efficiently than a vibrating pad.

The only downside is that it doesn't have an additional rubber brush for more thorough cleaning, but it's a small price to pay if you are looking for one of the top robots on the market. The dust tank on the robovac is larger than many of its competitors, and filling it up only takes two or three cycles even when you've got the most dirt.

As for the mopping device, I was amazed by its ability to scrub off hard-to-clean dirt from my floors. Its two mopping modes at the lowest that are less abrasive than the higher-powered ones generate minimal noise, allowing you to work or even watch TV without interruption. If it comes across the wall or a piece of furniture it gently bumps into it and moves on.

What distinguishes the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to function almost completely autonomously, requiring only a little for user intervention. The robo-vac comes with a multi-function dock that can automatically transfer physical trash into the hidden bin and cleans and drys mop pads and replenishes its clean water tank. The app is good at nagging you only when something is in need of attention, such as the water tank being empty or a scheduled vacuuming session that was cancelled due to a stuffed dust bin.

You can also design and merge rooms to modify how the Q Revo will treat your home. This feature is helpful when you have different flooring in different areas of your home, or if you need to regularly remove clutter, such as toys, clothes and books. The robo-vac is also very efficient and was among the top performers in my tests, picking up debris from carpets as well as hardwoods in its first run. It can even vacuum up wet spills. I recommend drying them with a towel before sending it to.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd expect from a premium robot vacuum and mop and more. It has the ability to rotate mops and a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets as well as hard floors. It's similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also has an automatic cleaning station that cleans and empty the mop pads to keep them clean and ready for reuse. It also comes with a brand new sensor system that can better recognizes obstacles, giving it the ability to prevent falling over furniture and other objects.

The biggest difference over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that it is sleeker and more modern design, thanks to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for Bang & Olufsen products). Although it's still quite large--it's more than two feet high and deep and weighs nearly four pounds--the entire robot and its base are much smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot J7.

This model is also more efficient than the X1 version, since it charges faster and can handle a complete cleaning of about 1,500 square feet with just one charge. It also comes with a larger and more durable dustbin that can hold more debris. This makes it easier to empty.

Finally, the X2 Omni has a more user-friendly app and a voice assistant that works offline, so you can manage it even when not at home. It also comes with a smart routing feature that lets it clean specific areas or rooms of your home, instead of following a predetermined path.

The Omni X2 Omni is the most effective mopping performance of any robot we've tested, because of its rotating mop pads that scrub away tough stains and a motor that creates plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming is excellent as well and it enhances suction when it detects carpet to ensure it's doing the job well. It also has a huge battery that can last for several weeks between charges and its mopping mode is as efficient as anything we've seen in an ordinary robot.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a premium model that comes with a variety of convenience features not often found on robots in this price range. It is able to create precise floor maps and recognize different types of flooring. It's also one of the only robots that automatically clean and dry its mop pad. Although these features are great, they also put the L10s Ultra in the luxury category which could make it slightly more expensive than what some homeowners require.

The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaner. It's slim and tall, with a white finish, accentuated by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is dominated by a huge bumper, which protects furniture and vacuum cleaners from damage while moving through the home. Sensors are concealed behind the front pane, which help the L10s Ultra navigate tight corners and avoid obstacles.

On the top of the vacuum there is a single button that is used as an on/off switch. This button will activate the vacuum. By pressing it again, you can turn it off and transmit it back to its base station. The circular menu in the center of the control panel allows you to choose cleaning modes as well as schedules and preferences. The left and right buttons beneath the screen will bring up the app's settings menu where you can modify how the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.

The L10s Ultra, like the iRobot Roomba S9+ or Roborock Q Revo uses a combination of cameras and LIDAR technology to map your home. This creates a precise floor plan that helps the robot vacuum and mop effectively, without getting stuck in messy areas. The LIDAR also helps the robot vacuum recognize and avoid obstacles which is a great feature for families with children or pets.

The L10s Ultra is an efficient vacuum cleaner, which removes 98.4 percent of debris from our test on hard floors, and taking out all but stubborn juice staining. The mops also work well, removing 98.4 percent of the debris from our carpet, tile and wood tests. It wasn't as effective at removing sand from the hard floor or quaker oatmeal from the carpet.
