Line-up

Turn Back, the band's third studio album is a return to a classic sextet structure, and an even more consistent and powerful effort that had a more grittier edge. The more edgy sound of the album was a reflection of the maturation of the group, with drummer Bobby Kimball's improved proficiency on the drums, as well as a more confident, mature vocal delivery from singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's work was sharper, more intricate, and less derivative than previously recorded efforts.

After touring to promote their album, the band recorded the band's Amsterdam live performance that was released by Eagle Records as a 2-CD set entitled Falling In Between.
